52 Hike Challenge: Week 1- McAfee’s Knob

One of my resolutions for the new year was to attempt a 52 hike challenge and tell you guys about them to keep myself accountable. These challenges requires 52 hikes in one year (one per week but you can play catch up in a different week if you miss one). I decided there was no time like the present to get started especially since Ian had a rare day off work and was willing to come hike with me. We did 8 miles at McAfee’s Knob in Catawba, VA. I have hiked it a few times before but never in winter and Ian had never done such this hike. It was a pretty tough since I have not been on the trails as much since starting law school, but we made it! It also gave us a few hours to unplug, catch up with each other, and enjoy some fresh air on a mild winter day.
